Experience

I began my teaching career overseas more almost eleven years ago. Since then, I have been designing customized curricula to meet the specific demands of my pupils. As a bilingual teacher, I know the trials and tribulations that students go through when they learn this wonderful language. This also makes me aware of the highs and lows of second language acquisition and allows me to recognize when students need more attention. Leaving my students in Europe was immensely difficult as I had been teaching and nurturing many of them for years. Being able to hear them discuss books, movies, music and other topics from all wakes of life in English made me feel proud and elated beyond belief. However, new wonders were waiting for me as an ESL teacher in the US. I began teaching students from all over the world. This opportunity has been one of the most amazing experiences of my career. Through teaching them English and American culture, they have also taught me about their society, culture and traditions. It is wonderful to see students from all over the world sit together in one classroom and communicate with each other using the English language. All these years of teaching have allowed me to fully realize the tremendous influence that teachers have on the lives of their students. If teachers are effective and engaging, they will inspire their students to continue learning outside of the classroom. I firmly believe that this is the most rewarding profession on the planet. As language teachers, we not only help people master a language, but we also open up a new world for students by introducing them to new cultures. This allows them to look at the learned language not as an alien, distant thing, but rather as a familiar phenomenon that dwells in a land to which teachers give them the key...

Hobbies

Watching movies, reading novels and comic books, writing short stories, baking delicious cakes, dancing. I am a huge fan of comic books, fairies and fantasy books. I wrote my first MA thesis on the comic books, my second one on fairies. I absolutely adore the fantasy genre. It definitely is a wonderful place to escape. So when I'm not teaching or tutoring, I translate and co-write a choose-your-own adventure app, called the Narborion Saga.
