András C.
Private tutor in Budapest, Hungary
Education
I'm currently a pure mathematics PhD student at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) and I'm studying the fields of algebraic and differential topology. I also did my BSc and MSc (with honours) as a pure mathematician at ELTE.
Experience
So far I've taught elementary geometry and complex analysis problem solving courses at my uni, but I also have some experience as an online tutor in basic algebraic topology, geometric topology and algebraic geometry. I wrote my master's thesis on a quite high level differential topological construction (you can read it here if you wish: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2006.00852.pdf) and I have expertise in just about every university level topology and geometry subject. My preferred subjects to teach are topology, geometry (anything from the very elementary to the quite abstract), multivariable calculus, complex analysis, functional analysis, set theory and basic abstract algebra (groups, rings, vector spaces, etc.). What I can offer as a tutor: - insight in the motivations and intuitions behind mathematical notions, - large amounts of exercises that we can solve together (in my experience these are great tools to understand new notions), - if you bring a book chapter / article / problem / etc. that you want to understand better, I can also help in that (although I probably won't be able to solve new problems instantly, usually I can present the solution in the next session).
